Covid Information

Dear Village Hall Users – we hope that you and all your friends and family are still well and not finding the current situation too onerous.

We are pleased to announce that, after much discussion and consideration by a Trustees working group of the many pages of advice and guidance from the government and other organisations, we believe that we have settled on a method of allowing the village hall to reopen on a limited basis from 1st August 2020.

Below are 4 documents that your group will need to have read and considered before you decide whether to start using Corfe Castle Village Hall again.

  1. The "Covid Secure" poster – that will be displayed on the entrance doors and which will apply to all those who enter the premises.
  2. The "Special Covid Hire Conditions" – which will apply in addition to our normal hire conditions.
  3. The "CCVH Covid Risk Assessment" – that we have carried out to enable the hall to be consider Covid-19 secure. The content may also help you complete your own Covid–19 Risk Assessment.
  4. The "Covid Hirers Risk Assessment" – a template that you can edit and use to form your own Covid-19 Risk Assessment.

These documents are by no means 'cast in stone' as any future guidance from the government is likely to mean that they will have to be updated fairly regularly.

We will also a require an "Event Management Plan", that can include plans and drawings, to show how you intend to manage your event within the relevant hall or room to maintain social distancing as well as the 'pinch points' in the lobby, corridor and toilets.

To assist in the lobby there will be a table placed centrally to create a 'roundabout' effect for people entering and/or leaving. We will provide wipe clean signs that can be reversed to suit the direction of flow that suits your activity. There will of course be plenty of other warning / advisory signs around the hall that must not be removed or covered up.

We would also appreciate any feedback from yourselves, as you restart using the hall under these unusual conditions, so that our guidance and precautions can be adapted if necessary.

Bookings will only be accepted after the Trustees have examined your Risk Assessment and Event Management Plan but a response will be forthcoming within 72 hours of receipt. In addition we trust that you will appreciate that due to these still uncertain times we cannot guarantee that any bookings made will be able to take place if the local or national situation takes a turn for the worst.

The Trustees also reserve the right to visit the premises during any event to observe how you are managing.

For your information we are hoping that the first Village Hall Coffee Morning will take place on 5th September. But in exactly what form has yet to be decided dependant on the guidance at that time.

So keep safe and we may hopefully see you again all soon.
